What The Heart Cannot Say

When Silence Hurts

When the heart aches,
yet there’s nothing you can do,
when the one you care for
slowly avoids you too.

When you want to speak,
but your words meet silence instead,
you stand there questioning
every thought inside your head.

So you hide the pain within,
letting your heart cry alone,
because some emotions
are too fragile to be shown.

You fear what they may think,
you fear becoming “too much,”
so you stay quiet,
even when you crave their touch.

You give them space.
You give them time.
You give them care
while carrying storms inside.

But what about you?

Who listens to your silence?
Who notices your pain?
Who stays beside you
when your heart cannot explain?

All you receive is sorrow,
all you receive is hurt,
a thousand unspoken feelings
buried beneath your words.

And still, you keep asking yourself

How do you respond
to a pain no one can see?
How do you heal
when you’re left to grieve quietly?

Maybe the saddest part is this—
you become the person
who comforts everyone else,
while silently breaking yourself.

You stand for others
through every storm they face,
yet when your own world falls apart,
there’s no one in your place.

And that is the loneliness
few people ever know
being surrounded by many,
yet having no one to hold.
