LIFE: Risk or Safety?

Dedicated to all the Scouters
Life isn't easy. It can sometimes get boring. Life requires a bit of adventure to spice it up. This bit of adventure always has some risks. The Scout life is so. The various activities of a Scout life can bring joy and enjoyment. However, one must never be careless in this life. A normal life is full of risks and it is our choice whether we wish to take risks or not. But in the life of a Scout, a Scout takes risks all the time, whether it is while going on a hike or a trek, whether during volunteering or in making gadgets. Every part of this life is full of risks. Regardless of the risks, a scout enjoys the activities. But it is equally important to take safety measures as well. Ensuring good safety is another part of the Scout life. While we enjoy the various activities, we must equally take precautions for safety. A scout must never get so engaged in the activities that he/she forgets that safety comes before enjoyment.
The activities of a scout can harm everyone if proper safety is not ensured. For example, if a scout makes a gadget(let us say a gate) at a school and the knotting is not proper, the gate can collapse at anytime. In this scenario, not only the scout but also all the students, teachers, staffs, parents and visitors to the school come at risk. Enjoyment is good but safety and carefulness is equally necessary. One must never be over excited and loose his/her sense of precaution in the case of an activity regardless of how much fun it is. Hence, taking risks is what makes life fun but safety while taking risks is equally important.
